So who are we?
The Bandito Posse are a group of uber-atheletes, totally dedicated
to the life of riding snow, waves, bikes and livestock. Its
numbers have grown over the last few years as more and more have seen
the light of the Bandito way of life where long road trips are the
norm, surfing 4 degree 1-foot East Coast slop is completely acceptable
and turning up for a night out wearing an afro and aviators is highly
commendable.
The original posse have been around for a number of years, after
a seventies-cop incident on a rather dodgy Cornish campsite. The numbers
have grown over time with new members welcomed into the fold before
being lead into the path of wicked waves, tasty trails and fantastic
funk. The initiation process is by no means an easy one - many have
dared to enter the realms of the Bandito but after long weekends of
drinking, surfing and making up stupid games on roadtrips the weak
are soon cast to one side.
The Banditos pursue spiritual enlightenment through many mediums
and down many paths. They have carved up slopes in the southern and
northern hemispheres, surfed breaks in the
Pacific, Atlantic, Caribbean and North Sea and ridden trails from Grenada to Glentress. They have ventured
into skateparks in various bike and board guises over the years and
have even experimented with Satan's own sport - windsurfing. But only once. The Duke is a mean darts player too.
Due to the highly soulful nature of the Bandito Posse, simplicity
is heartily encouraged in all its forms. Single-fin boards are Carlos's wave-riding steed of choice and singlespeed bikes are undoubtedly the soulful choice for the dedicated rider; the Bandito Allstar
team was proud to finish terribly in the 2002 and 2003 Singlespeed
Nationals. They've also competed in various 24 hour and enduro events,
flying the Bandito colours and generally bringing soul, good-vibes
and naughty pictures to the event.
